Guardianship Program Information

The Paw Pad Goldendoodles, Inc. provides the food if you live close enough to pick up from us. If not, guardian must feed approved food to their guardian dog.

Tha Paw Pad Goldendoodles, Inc. supplies vitamins needed for breeding purposes. All medication including heartworm preventative, flea, and tick medications have to be approved by The Paw Pad Goldendoodles, Inc. as some brands are not safe for breeding dogs.

Female breeding dogs come to The Paw Pad when they are in season for breeding. The female dog is returned to the guardian, after breeding, until prior to her due date. 3 weeks after breeding we do need to do a sonogram on the female. Once puppies are born, the female remains at our facility until the puppies are 8 weeks old.

If the guardian lives 1-2 hours away, then an employee from The Paw Pad will try to meet the guardian for transferring the guardian dog. If an employee is unavailable to do so, the guardian must drive to The Paw Pad Goldendoodles, Inc. facility.

Option 1.

The Paw Pad Doodles will breed the guardian female for 3 litters of 5 or more puppies. If one litter consists of less than 5 puppies than we will breed her for a 4th litter. After agreement is fulfilled, The Paw Pad will pay for the spay and sign the female over to the guardian. There is no money paid to the guardian for the puppies born to the guardian dog with option 1.

Option 2.

Starting on the second litter, The Paw Pad Doodles will pay the guardian $300 per puppy, that has no health issues and is adoptable. The female will be retired at age 6 (before her 7th birthday), or sooner, if the breeder decides to retire sooner. She will then be signed over to guardian. With this option, the female will be bred more than 4 times. The number of litters is determined by the breeder and based on how well the female dog does with pregnancy and caring for her puppies.

Guardian must notify the breeder each time the female goes into season. SSN required for tax forms issued at end of year. Guardian pays for spay.

*Guardian is NOT allowed to breed the female outside of The Paw Pad Goldendoodles, Inc. agreement.

Males are typically retired at 7-8 years of age. He will then be signed over to the guardian. Guardians for our sires need to live within a 30 minute drive from our facility.

The Paw Pad will supply food and vitamins. The Paw Pad will notify the guardian when the sire is needed.

The guardian will transport the sire back and forth when needed and will wait in the car or leave the sire with us, at our facility, for the week he is needed.

After second litter sired, we will pay the guardian $500 stud service for litters of 5 or more puppies and $250 for litters of less than 5 puppies. Check is mailed once the litter sired is born. SSN needed for tax form issued at the end of the year.

*Guardian is NOT allowed to breed the male outside of The Paw Pad Goldendoodles, Inc. agreement.

*Tests need to be done on all dogs before they are added to the breeding program. You will be notified when we need the dog for an eye exam at U of I and hip/elbows exam at our vet’s office in Normal, IL. Other tests needed are done during these dates.
